Improving your LinkedIn profile

Make the most of the word count!

LinkedIn is no Twitter – you have 2000 characters available in your summary section, so make use of the large word count. Check out this detailed list of LinkedIn character counts for 2016.

Pick a couple of keywords that are relevant to your industry and use them in your summary, title, description and throughout your profile.

Use multimedia content

Add a professional photo of yourself and other images related to your work. Add any videos that you created, were involved or featured in or relate to your expertise. Make sure you include articles you’ve written or been featured in as part of your summary or a project you’ve worked on. Multimedia content helps beef up your profile and showcase your expertise.

Be in it to win it!

Be active on the platform. You should like and share third part posts, just like you would on any other social media platform. You should also publish your own content (articles, opinion pieces, tips and advice) on Pulse to get you noticed.
