Introducing #menustories, a world-first ‘farm-to-table’ inspired concept for Instagram’s 15-second video platform – a snapshot look at the creation of a dish and the history of ingredients prior to ordering.
With social media at the heart of on-the-go modern communication, #menustories is the ground breaking fusion of motion picture with the world’s love of food photography that will revolutionise the hospitality industry and the way people think about food.
Setting out with the intention of creating a unique menu experience for Instagram’s video platform, The Delicatessen, Sydney’s boutique content agency, conceived, created and produced #menustories to play on the modern world’s short attention span and love of food photography – it’s no longer about the new generation of technology but the new generation of consumer who is constantly seeking inspiration from the technology in the palm of their hand.
Sydney’s French Basque bistro, Le Pelican, is the first restaurant in the world to use #menustories and is launching five #menustories on it’s Instagram page @lepelicansydney on Wednesday 19 February at 11am.
The initial five #menustories will showcase the stories behind Le Pelican’s famous and most favoured dishes:
– Les Huitres (Oysters)
– La Saint Jacques (Scallops)
– Le Canard (Duck)
– Le dorade royale (Snapper)
– Le Souffle (Berry Souffle)
Customers, and food photography fans, will be encouraged to like and share the #menustories videos in return for a jar of homemade jam from Head Chef and owner Jeff (Jean Francois) Salet.
The future of #menustories is that of branded entertainment – taking advertising to the next level and leaving the consumer wanting to know more about the food they are consuming. Telling stories around ingredients and dishes; and encouraging consumers to discover new dishes at a personal level.
