This week on Deli Bytes, Becca shares to script or not to script.

Check out the video above or on YouTube and if you like it, share it! We also summarised the tips below, so have a read if you don’t have time to watch.

Here is a topic of conversation brought up time and time again the last month, whether to script or not to script your video content?

To not script!

Now unless you have some big budgets out there and your hiring actors and actresses, I recommend that scripting is not top of your priority list when creating content to your video. Why?

Because memorising a script is ridiculously hard and in order to create a  personable and authentic version of yourself on video its better to go off cuff but on point.

State the 3 key bullet points

What I mean by that? Don’t go into camera withering away. Bullet point 3 key messages that you want to get across your video content and work around that.

For example, for this video my 3 key bullet points are whether:

  • You should or not script the video?
  • Why you should be doing that?
  • What you need to be doing instead.

Relax and be natural

Big time when creating video content not to overthinking it. A lot of people in front of the camera get a little bit of stage fright! But just be natural talk. Talk to camera, talk to the cameraman behind the camera if you don’t want to look at the lens but stick to those 3 bullet points. And please stay away from scripture content word for word.
